Our History
Hawkins Transport (QLD) Pty Ltd was established on the 9 February 1998.
It all started with only two livestock trucks, which transported cattle around the local Gulf region as well as South West Queensland & the Northern Territory.
Realising we could make more of an impact to the remote townships around our headquarters in Normanton, our company has progressively expanded over 20 years to suit the changing needs of our customers.

2006 saw the establishment of our general freight services which, along with all types of vehicles, building supplies, machinery and the like, also covered the specialized area of refrigerated freight and frozen goods.
2007 was the year our side tippers were introduced to the fleet to service the local shire, mainly to assist in the development and repair of the local road networks.
2010 saw the expansion of our general and refrigerated freight service to Far North and Remote Queensland. With fresh refrigerated and frozen food, arriving almost daily from our Brisbane, Cairns, Townsville and Mt Isa depots to service Normanton and Karumba. Add to that weekly services to Weipa, Pormpuraaw, Kowanyama, Doomadgee and most Roadhouses and Cattle Stations in-between. Our freight services are in a state of continual growth.
2020 was the year our long time neighbours in Normanton, Gulf Concrete, became a part of Hawkins Transport. With this purchase we have been able to continue our growth in the Gulf Region, and more importantly, continue to support our local community.
Hawkins Transports goal, has always been, to bring a sense of normality to life in the outback. And sharing with that, the pride and passion that Hawkins Transport was built on from the beginning. With the dedication of Bradley Hawkins, his family, friends and staff, our service continues to grow across the state and incorporating many different specialized areas.
